Black Ruffles and Bows; Vintage Dress and Black Ruffle Shoes

Oh the choices...
What shoes to go with this lovely vintage 80's ruffle dress?
This is an original vintage c.1980's dress that is made of a matte black taffeta fabric. The skirt is very full and lined with black crinoline to keep the shape. The bodice has boning sewn inside for extra support. This is a one of a kind dress and a small size.
Ruffles and ruffles and ruffles. Ruffle dress, ruffle shoes, ruffle.....

This is a test idea- to pair my vintage dress with items on polyvore and make a set. Should be easy enough. Except, polyvore won't upload my images from
this blog, from photobucket, from etsy or facebook!!!!!!
So what you see here is an improvised way or pairing my vintage dress from my etsy shop with a polyvore set. It works for now, but I would sure love to do this right AND upload my images to polyvore- please email me a tutorial if you know what I am saying.

What Have I been Doing Today?

My Fashion Haul

What, may you ask is in this pile? Well, let me tell you;

1) Emerald green 80's disco dress with ruching and sequins- big padded shoulders (a la Grace Jones)
2) Black 80's disco dress with ruching, sequins and flapper fringed shoulders!(big padded shoulders)
3) Black 80's taffeta full skirt party/prom mini dress with big bow
4) Blue floral 70's long hippie kimono caftan muu-muu
5) Floral print Karen Millen Dress
6) Black Sisley Jersey Dress
7) Black and white stripe Full skirt party/prom dress with velvet/sequin bodice- new with tags!
8) Kelly Green 60's textured knit dress
9) Pale yellow sequined Bebe sweater set

So, obviously my haul was not ALL vintage, but some amazing finds. It will take me a few days to get these items listed in my shops. I can't wait to photograph them! I wish I had a model!
I have grown attached to the old mannequin girl. She works for cheap and is always ready to work.
It would be nice to do some editorial work again though. I just need to find the right folks. Hopefully soon. For now its me and my girl.

Favorites I Want To Keep-#2

Don't ask me why, I LOVE this tote bag. Maybe the tangerine orange color.
Maybe the shiny glossy-ness? All together = LOVE.
I showed this purse to my BFF and she had the same reaction- we do have similar tastes.
Mod 70's bright colors and shiny, yep that's it

Favorites I Want To Keep -#1

This ensemble is a 70's photo-printed set. I would love to know how this process works -photo printing on polyester fabric(not silk-screen)? I have seen some cool ideas out there with the same 70's photo-print look (someone help me with the correct term!) recently in swimsuits, but of course I cannot remember the label(more later).....
Anyway, this set does not fit me anyway, but I want it to find the right home; someone who appreciates the odd sense of humor of wearing the image of giraffes on your chest and back, also I hope this set goes to a true animal lover/animal rights kinda girl. Whatever, I just hate to see this piece go, whaa!

Twiggy Love

Twiggy
 Twiggy?

I found this crazy mannequin head at a thrift store a while ago.
She has started to grow on me.
I think the maker must of had Twiggy in mind. Then I started researching Twiggy mannequins and discovered a whole world of Twiggy worship in mannequin form.

Even before Twiggy became an icon, Adel Rootstein, famous mannequin maker, chose her as the model to base a series of six different mannequins on. Twiggy was 14 years old in 1964 when Adel captured her elfish image in mannequin form.

Sadly, I may say bye-bye to my mannequin if the price is right, she is on the auction block this week.

If anyone out there may know something about her history please share.
